I hope that you are enjoying a fun, safe, and restful summer! The past school year at Islip Middle School was an exciting one filled with opportunities for our students, and
we are already busy planning for next year.
Our school crest features the words “welcoming, connecting, and learning”, reflecting the work we do to ensure students feel at home in our school, building meaningful relationships, and growing as curious learners. One of the most important elements of student success is a sense of belonging; when students feel seen, heard, and valued they are more confident and motivated to learn. This upcoming year we will continue to focus on finding opportunities to highlight student voice and helping them examine the positive impact that they can have in our school community.
We are currently in the process of finalizing schedules. If there are any considerations you would like us to make regarding your child's schedule, please email me directly: mbasch@islipufsd.org, by July 30, 2027. After this point, schedules will not be adjusted.
Mr. Juengerkes, Mr. Bodner, and I are excited to welcome our newest Buccaneers to our upcoming 6th Grade Orientation & CRES/SES PTA-sponsored Mingle event. This will take place on August 27, 2026 at 9:00AM in the IMS auditorium. All incoming 6th grade students and their parents/guardians are invited to attend an orientation presentation, followed by an official building tour and a fun chance to mingle with other incoming students.
While we hope you enjoy your summer, our Middle School team is looking forward to welcoming the 6th, 7th and 8th grade students back to school in September, continuing to foster connections and meaningful learning experiences.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out over the summer; we welcome your ideas, questions, and partnership.
Best Regards,
Meghan Basch
